TETEO

TETEO is an amateur film that captures life in Celanova, Galicia, Spain, during the summer of 2022. the title, which literally means “to go out,” perfectly captures the essence of the film. Francesca Gonzalez (creator of the film) was constantly out and about with the camera throughout my month-long stay, which quickly became my companion. As the granddaughter of Celanova natives with strong family ties to the town, this film is a way for Gonzalez to honor her heritage and show her appreciation for her grandparents. It also offers viewers a glimpse into Gonzalez's everyday life there, featuring interviews with family and friends, a heartwarming reunion between her grandmother and her sister after three years, local traditions, and much more. TETEO blends her love for filmmaking with her deep connection to this town and the people who make it feel like home, creating something that celebrates both my roots and the place that will always have a special place in my heart.
